Benefits Enrollment and Changes Checklist

New Hires

New hires will receive an email from our benefits broker, Verlingue, within the week. You will need to complete both medical and dental insurance forms should you wish to enroll.

Timing: Enrollment will be effective the first of the month following receipt of the completed forms.

Employees will automatically be enrolled into the pension scheme, but can opt-out by emailing payroll@samsara.com and peopleops@samsara.com.

Changes due to Life Event

If employees have a life event, such as a marriage, divorce, birth, please email samsara@verlingue.co.uk to update your benefits elections.

Private Medical Insurance

Bupa Private Medical Insurance in the UK is designed to complement the NHS by covering the cost of private treatment of non-emergency, acute conditions (acute meaning a disease, illness or injury that is likely to respond quickly to treatment – long term illnesses are not usually covered). 

Samsara covers 100% of the employee insurance premium and 70% for dependents. Please note, entry to the scheme is not automatic, so you will need to complete an application form and return to Verlingue. This is a taxable benefit and the premium will be reported on your P11d tax form at year-end.

There is a £100 excess for which the employee is responsible. The £100 excess is payable per person per policy year, not per claim.

Bupa Blua

Bupa Blua is the app that offers 24/7 rapid health advice with online video GP consultations via your phone or other digital devices. The Babylon app is available to download on Apple and Android devices. The app can also be accessed via a computer with reduced functionality at online.babylonhealth.com/sign-in. 

To get FREE virtual GP appointments, please make sure you enter your code BUPADHC when registering for the app or booking an appointment.

Private Dental Insurance

Bupa Private Dental Plan offers you cash help towards a variety of everyday dental care costs and insurance for emergency dental treatment and dental injury treatment. You can claim back money towards costs that you have incurred up to a set amount in each 12 month period. Samsara has Level 4 Cover through Bupa Dental.

  • Full Eye Test at any SpecSavers store

  • One pair of glasses from the £49 range or £49 towards glasses

Help@Hand

Help@hand is a digital health and wellbeing service from Unum. It’s completely confidential and will provide you and your family with access to five health and wellbeing services via one easy-to-use app including: 

  • Remote GPs: Video consultations that last up to 20 minutes. Aiming to get you seen by UK-based doctors within two hours, all day, every day. 

  • Mental health support: Access to therapists when it’s needed most and typically delivered via video consultation. 

  • Physiotherapy: A network of physiotherapists with treatment plans usually delivered via video consultation. 

  • Medical second opinions: Access to UK-based private consultants – following a final diagnosis. 

  • Life, money and wellbeing support: Advice on a range of life and work issues, including financial, legal and family concerns, plus a confidential 24/7 helpline. 

You'll receive a welcome email at your samsara.com email address containing your username, temporary password and instructions on how to get started.

LifeWorks Employee Assistance Programme

Sometimes it’s the little things in life that turn into a big problem, and unresolved personal or work issues can have a major impact on wellbeing. Unum LifeWorks is designed to help you cope with simple questions to complex issues, by giving you information and confidential practical support on a range of everyday issues including work, family, relationships, money and health. 

You can access the service via:

  • WEBSITE: unum-uk.lifeworks.com (username: Unum; password: lifeworks)

  • FREEPHONE 0800 048 2702: confidential support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

  • MOBILE APP: Download the mobile app from the Apple App or Google Play stores; simply search 'Lifeworks' and look for the Lifeworks logo.

Group Life Assurance

The benefit provides a tax-free lump sum payment to your dependents or nominated person(s) in the event of your death. This is fully paid by Samsara and is not a taxable p11d benefit. UK employees are automatically enrolled into the Group Life Assurance.

Group Income Protection

The group income protection plan is designed to protect your income in the event of you being absent from work, due to illness, for a continuous period in excess of 13 weeks. This is fully paid by Samsara and is not a taxable p11d benefit. UK employees are automatically enrolled into the Group Income Protection.

Group Personal Pension

Samsara Networks Limited recognizes that pension provision is an important part of your benefits and as such offer a pension provision.

  • Qualifying Workplace Pension

  • Employer Contribution of 5% and Employee Contribution of 4%

Please note, you will be automatically enrolled into the pension scheme on the 1st of the month, following your date of hire in line with the Auto Enrollment Legislation.
